Many FAAA members know first-hand that financial advice is a profession people often grow into, rather than plan from the outset. Some of today’s most effective advisers bring with them experience from other careers — along with perspective, empathy and well-honed people skills that clients value deeply.
The career-changer element of the digital Better Off campaign reflects that reality. The broader Better off campaign went live last financial year and has been rebooted and refreshed for 2026. The career changer element has been rebranded and now is part of the Advice Academy family, a logical place for prospective new entrants to land as an introduction to the profession.
Attracting career changers with purpose and potential
The career changer campaign focuses on attracting professionals who are at a stage in life where purpose, impact and long-term sustainability matter — and who already have the raw capabilities to become excellent advisers with the right education and support.
As a digital campaign, audiences will be exposed to the campaign in the places where they spend their time – on social media and when visiting other sites online as well as when searching for information on a change of job.
The campaign speaks plainly about the pathway into advice — the study, commitment and responsibility involved — while highlighting the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term careers helping Australians make better financial decisions.
Looking ahead, growing adviser numbers is not just about the future workforce. It’s about protecting the strength, credibility and continuity of the profession members have helped shape. Encouraging the right people to step into advice helps ensure that legacy continues — and that clients, practices and advisers alike remain better off.
