Welcome to the Autumn issue of FAAA Connection

This publication is for you, our members, and seeks to let you in on what’s happening with your colleagues and friends across the financial planning sector. Please get in touch with us if you’d like to share your ideas or updates of your own.

This issue features an article on paraplanners. Some see paraplanning as a career of specialised advice technicians – a force we couldn’t do without – while others see paraplanning as a stepping stone to becoming an adviser. We talk to three established paraplanners to see why they do what they do and what keeps them motivated to keep doing it.

We also look at how Australian financial advisers are embracing new AI tech with 83% of planners either using AI or planning to in the next 12 months. Look out for photos of you and your colleagues at recent events. And check out our article about The Accommodation Brokers offering a great deal for FAAA members.

Please email with any feedback. We’d love to hear from you.

What makes a great paraplanner?

All financial planners will be working with paraplanners at some point in their work – but who are these people and why do they choose to do what they do?
