By now, many of you have probably seen our new ad campaign promoting financial planning to consumers.
The Better off campaign, launched in October is a digital ad series that has a three-pronged approach. Firstly it is aimed at emerging and established affluent consumers to educate them on how they will be better off with professional financial advice. Secondly, it is aimed at educating career changers on why they would be better off with a purposeful and rewarding career in financial advice. And finally, the campaign will have a role in promoting the CFP designation to accountants who hold a similar professional designation.
Better off is a digital campaign that will be targeted to key audiences primarily through social media and google. You can find out more here.
The FAAA decided now was the time to deploy some of its accumulated funds to help promote the profession.
According to FAAA Chair David Sharpe CFP®, “We wanted to use the funds we’ve built up to help our profession at a time when we think it’s most needed and can be best used for the benefit of members.”
The campaign is part of a wider raft of initiatives to promote financial advice to consumers.
In July, we relaunched the website Money & Life, for clients and potential clients. This website hosts articles from advisers and other contributors about life moments where financial advice is most useful – including starting out, getting a mortgage, marrying, redundancy, retirement and aged care. There is a monthly newsletter, and you might like to encourage your clients to sign up too.

Members who would like to contribute interesting articles to the site can contact the site editors at money&[email protected].
You may have noticed we’ve also upgraded the Find a Planner tool which now allows practising members to enter more details for an enhanced profile pages to better match advisers with consumers. https://faaa.au/find-a-planner/
